Pull Down your Vinyl Shower Curtains and Toss your Tampons

June 15th, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized

Vinyl shower curtains have now been linked to serious health problems according to a report on June 12th from the researchers from the Virginia based Center for Health, Environment & Justice where retailers were asked to pull their curtains off the shelves. If you read my recommended books to read you would know that there are many references to this problem in the book “Exposed” and in the book “Not Just Another Pretty Face” the Ugly side of the beauty industry. High concentrations of phthalates effect reproduction and are considered to be hazardous air pollutants. Phthalates are used in artificial fragrance which is added to almost everything Americans consume for personal care. One of those items are tampons and the fact that 98% of the tampons on the market contain phthalates in one form or another that adhere to the skin. Not great news for us women. There are only 2 companies providing non-chlorine bleached tampons without fragrance and those are Seventh Generation and Natracare. While you are throwing out your shower curtain throw the tampons out with it!

They are unique in that they have something called an anion strip embedded in every pad it is antibacterial and offers numerous benefits.
