I don’t like beauty…I LOVE IT!
I know you picked me as your perfect match to help you realize how beautiful you really are and the real beauty of this truth is that you were born that way! Buckminster Fuller said “Everyone is born a genius, but the process of living de-geniuses them.” I think it is that way about beauty. We are born unique with our own beautiful blueprint that is ours to embrace and instill a higher sense of compelling values to life and our contribution to others. Real beauty comes from the inside outward and it is through those eyes that we see in each other our unique gifts. Great marketing makes us forget what is ours and asks us to replace our unique self with someone else’s self. I remember living in Hawaii and being awed by the natural beauty of every woman, man and child from there. The rich dark skin, beautiful eyes and full features that embraced the my reflection were like legend pools. I would have traded my skin, my hair and my eye color on the spot and was amazed that they wanted to make the same trade with me. I thought long and hard about this and realized that so much of what we see in the magazines, television and movies is about what other people think we should look like. A tree doesn’t look at the tree next to it and wonder why it can’t look duplicate itself to become the same, so why do we? Get close to a mirror. So close that you can only see your eyes and nothing else around you. You cannot change your fingerprints and your features are yours alone. You are looking at the most beautiful person in the world and it’s you. Know that you are extraordinary in what you bring to this life. Become what you want others to be: leaders, visionaries, environmentally conscious, inspirational, spiritual and brilliant. You are living proof of your natural born beauty!

This is great! I don’t know how many times I have looked at other people and wished that I had an ounce of their beauty. It amazes me that I still have a hard time looking in the mirror and be able to tell myself that I am a beautiful woman. I know that I am, but to say the words are hard. I am not sure that the day will ever come, but wouldn’t it be wonderful if every woman was amazed with just herself, not judging herself against anyone else? I hope the time comes soon. I am working on it myself.

You are so right! If we can remember the beauty in the small faces of children before they employ judgement the better we are in embracing what beauty is truly ours. I remember as a child feeling complete, whole and unaware of what I thought others might think of me. I danced, twirled hula hoops and dressed up in crazy outfits of my own imagination. Let’s all do more of that and less contemplating comparisons of any kind. The constellations are a gathering of every size of star and they would be nothing less one of them. Let’s all work on this one together because the day is coming when we appreciate ourselves and each other for our unique and genuine beauty!
